The PQ Problem
Medium-frequency furnace is widely used in the metallurgical industry, mainly used in the smelting of non-ferrous metals and ferrous metals.The working frequency of medium frequency furnace is between 50~20000 Hz, which has the advantages of high thermal efficiency, short melting time, less burn loss of alloy elements, wide melting materials, less pollution to the environment, and can accurately control the temperature and composition of metal liquid.However, in the use of medium frequency furnace, it will produce a large number of harmonics, resulting in serious harmonic pollution in the power grid, causing great harm to the whole power system.
The Solution YTPQC-AHF and YTPQC-SVG
According to the field situation, we configure 500A Active Harmonic Filter and 250kVAr Static Var Generator to address the field power quality problems.
The Technical Performance
From the field test data (below figure), after the YTPQC-AHF and YTPQC-SVG, the field power quality problem is well solved, the current waveform from zigzag wave to sine wave, the harmonic current distortion rate from 61.3% to 3.5%, and the system power factor from 0.67 to 0.99.
